Black Spot On Roses
I have roses, live in sw Pa. have black spot on my roses, how do I treat this?
I would just start a routine spray program with a copper based fungicide. Every 7-10 days should do the trick. It probably isn’t necessary to prune back the rose, as this will set back your plant many weeks. The infected leaves (assuming its not on the whole plant) will eventually fall off. Make sure you clean up your leaf litter though.

simple home-made sprays to prevent black spot/tiny green bugs on roses?
Does bicarbonate of soda work?
Does a mixture of Chamomile, Chive, Elder, Horseradish and Casuarina leaves work?
Ive also been told 2 parts water and one part milk helps?
For bugs:
3 parts (1 tsp of cooking oil, 1 tsp of soap, and 1 gallon of water). A hose in sprayer works great for this so you can get the undersides of the leaves as well…
Soap kills the insects, oils help to shine the leaves and make it slick for bugs to stay on plants or lay eggs. This works great for insects such as aphids, mealy bugs, red spider mites, scales and whiteflies.
For blackspot: 1 tsp of baking soda in 1 gallon of water usually does the trick especially on roses… Also keep any leaves off the ground that have blackspot on them, it spreads.
Do this early morning or late in day go back out and wash down again… a few hours later, enough baking soda residual will stay to get rid of the blackspot. I just use it before sunset but then I get up before and wash off before the sun gets too hot to wash excess residual off the leaves, enough gets absorbed overnight.
