“(2)Sometimes I think that you’ll never let me forget what I’ve done twelve years ago. Howmany times do I have to say I’m sorry for the things that I have done?”, Gregory complained as he plunged himself into an overstuffed armchair.

His long time love, Stella, whom he had met under the (5)blue moon of Kentucky, on an exceptionally beautiful night, stood in the middle of their living room with her hands on her hips.

She took a deep breath to regain her composure and replied, “This is not about putting you on a guilt trip. (1)If you only knew, how the repercussions of your actions have been affecting me over the years, you wouldn’t have been so self-righteous about it”.

She walked into the kitchen and took two wine glasses from the shelf, then she opened a bottle of pinot noir and poured some of the red liquid into the glasses.

As she walked back into the living room with the glasses in her hands, she took in the troubled expression Gregory was wearing.
She softened as she remembered that he was wearing the same expression as he was trying to gather up the courage to ask her out when they first met in Kentucky in that magical night.

Stella could have got over that, but the woman he had had sex with had fooled Gregory into thinking that she was under birth control, desperate to tie him down to her, and Gregory had gotten her pregnant, not knowing that she had sleazily decided not taking the pill.

Now they had to deal with his illegitmate child.

Stella took a long drink from her wine while keeping her eyes fixed on her man. He looked completely lost in his own thoughts and didn’t even seem to realize he was holding a glass of wine. She watched him with affection, wondering to herself for the zillionth time, if this was something she could learn to deal with, or if it would keep eating her away for the rest of her life, the way it is doing now.

People say only time will tell, but Stella knew that life is too short.

Once again she wondered what it would be like to walk away from it all.

The call of freedom was so intoxicating, and oh-so-tempting…
