Is Rosa Damascena Flower Water (Bulgarian Rose Water) irritating to sensitive/acne prone skin? ?
It is listed as an essential (fragrant) oil.. and that usually is not a good sign, although I can’t find the exact words anywhere indicating that rose water is actually an irritant.
Bulgarian rose water is one of the best and most traditional facial cleansers and has multiple skin-care uses. The natural rose water is often used to treat acne and skin irritation.
It is however possible that you may be allergic to the product and it is always advisable to test the product on a small area of skin before use.
Some manufacturers may label their product as containing ‘rose essence’ however this may be synthetic and what you want is natural bulgarian rose oil/water. Synthetic rose ingredients have no therapeutic value.
I have tried many different acne cures, the best product I have found is pure essential tea tree oil. It is recommended that you dilute the product in a carrier oil, although I apply it neat before bed with no ill effects.
I have also found that sunbeds are very effective and when my acne is at its worst i use sunbeds for 9 minutes a time every other day for a week. It is also worth noting that sun beds also carry risks such as, skin cancer, if you are sensitive to the uv rays it may even make your skin condition worse.
My best advice is speak to your GP, if he can’t help ask him to refer you to dermatologist.
