Better hotel in Hong Kong? Lanson Place (Causeway Bay) or City Garden (North Point)?

We were worried whether Lanson Place would be quiet since it’s located next to Victoria Park. I’ve stayed in City Garden in the past, not a good experience. Maybe it improved?

Lanson Place (Causeway Bay) is good.

Wan Chai – Cultural and Industrial Hub in Hong Kong

Located on the northern shoreline of Hong Kong Island, “Wan Chai” is the third financial district in Hong Kong. It is home to many sky scrapping office towers, fun parks, medium-sized companies and hotels that are a testament to the rapid development of the district.

In the past Wan Chai was a main destination for fishermen who used to engage in their trade around Hung Shing Temple and the God Hung Shing Ye; the God of the sea was worshiped with great honour by the locals. In 1840, when Hong Kong became a colony of the British Empire, the area began to modernize as a main industrial district in the region.

Wan Chai is also the cultural center of Hong Kong where a number of foreign cultural institutions have been established in order to broaden people’s knowledge about different cultures and social aspects of the world. Some of the main establishments of the area can be mentioned as the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Center, Hopewell Centre, Playground and Central Plaza which stand as the major locations for leisure time. Central plaza is a 78-story structure that is the second tallest building in Hong Kong and the tower clock at the top is famous among every one for its innovative mechanism.

The Golden Bauhinia Square is also one of the most popular attractions in Wan Chai district, where people gather to do recreational activities after hectic working hours. The gigantic statue of a golden Bauhinia blakeana is the key monument at the center of this open area which was the main reason to name the place as “The Golden Bauhinia Square”.

Wan Chai is also well reputed as an ideal shopping destination in Hong Kong hosting a number of massive shopping malls such as Lee Gardens, Hong Kong World Trade Centre, Times Square and Causeway Bay which offer large varieties of designer clothes that belong to the latest trends.

Apart from that, Wan Chai is a perfect location where tourists could have a memorable stay at Hong Kong Island hotels. Especially the prominent hotels in Hong Kong such as Hotel Jen offer fabulous accommodation facilities to meet all the requirements of visitors.

How to get to Hong Kong North Point Ferry Pier from the Airport after the standard A11 bus last trip?

Hi, can anyone help me get to the north point ferry pier / city garden hotel after the A11 last trip which according to the net is 12:30AM? I unfortunately was told that the buses in HK runs for 24hrs but i just found out that not all of them do. our flight arrives around 12:55AM so we’ll probly get out of the airport around 1:30AM. I know there’s a city garden hotel bus & taxi but i’d like to get there with the cheapest transportation fee.. Thanks

the cheapest way is to take overnite airport bus out to the city 1st. then shift a cab to ur hotel. overnite time they dun hv anymore routes running to north point. just N11 is going to HK side but just in Sheung Wan area. it’s the 1st district that out fr the cross harbour tunnel. http://www.nwstbus.com.hk/routes/routeinfo.aspx?intLangID=1&searchtype=1&daytime=3&route=N11&routetype=N&company=5

plz chk the link & c N11 schedules. i guess they hv a 0120 sh be suitable 4 u.

u wil get off at the Sheung Wan bus terminal (which they mention = Macau Pier). rite there u can easily shift a cab. taxi fare fr Sheung Wan –> City Garden Hotel wil be aro HK$50. (USD$6.5)
