Concrete Garden Statues
Anyone know where I can get a fox statue similar to the ones seen on the Fox River bridge in St. Charles, IL?
I have looked everywhere for a concrete or bronze fox statue seen on the Fox River, St. Charles bridge. I have seen these foxes in people’s gardens, front steps, etc. I just can’t seem to find them anywhere in the area, (Geneva, St. Charles, Batavia, etc.) Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
Go to the Henri Creation web site and check around. If you don’t see something you like, search garden statuary. You probably can order it from the company now but getting it from a garden supply area might be tough considering its the end of the season. Look in the yellow pages probably under gardening. You might try Lurvey’s in Des Plaines, Pasquesi’s (up around Palatine or Deer Park), Chalet in Winnetka, or Evergreen on Rte 34 in Oswego. Good luck!

How do you preserve a concrete statue that is exposed outdoor?
I have a 1-foot tall concrete chicken statue that I decorate my garden. Since it is exposed to weather, over time, the paint peel off and some of the concrete is chipped. How do I fix it so that it will last long?
I have several concrete statues and fountains in my yard which I have used several manufacturer’s paints to spruce up over the years. I’ve found that the Patio Paints and sealer last about the longest even when exposed to water spraying from the fountains. You really have to wire brush off all of the peeling paint on the statue before starting and use the primer and the sealer after painting for the best adhesion. I have pieces that I painted 10 years ago out there that have weathered better than the ones on which I used concrete paint from the home improvement centers.
