I have knockout roses that are getting rather big. When is the best time to trim them back in Nebraska? Fall or Spring?
you should have done them prior to winter, and then again at the end of summer, then you will get maximum flowering

How to care for knockout roses in the winter?
I live in North Carolina and of course it’s winter and we have some red knockout roses already planted from this spring still in the ground. I’m just curious if there’s anything that we should do with them. Should we cut them down some, pull them out of the ground or just leave them. They grew so pretty and thick this summer and I want to make sure that they’ll do it again. We don’t water them at all anymore. Thanks!
I’m in CHarlotte area….. ours were cut just a couple days ago… we wait until the cold has taken all the leaves to brown, showing that the plant is dormant…. that took till now….. we cut ours back from about four ft plants to about 18 inches tall…. this is ours’ third year…. be sure you put down some slow release bloom food fertilizer for them when you see the first growth and again in July or so….. they do a lot of work making us flowers, so need a lot of good food to have that kind of energy….. they’ll be doing you great flowers for many years!!….
