How do I set up my front garden for planting, I am going to get rid of a big shrub but these beautiful lilies?
keeping coming up, even though i put weed killer on them, they are pretty but only bloom for a short period and then i’m left with a green forest.
I want it to be more pretty now so how can i stop these plants from growing. my front garden is only 3ft by 12ft.

With any kind of bulb, the only way to stop them coming up is to dig them out. Insert a Garden Fork carefully and deeply round the edge of the clump when it begins to shoot in Spring, so you can see where it is, and gently lever the clump out, if possible without breaking the ball of roots. Carefully split the clump and remove the bulbs. Then dig around the area again, until you’re sure you’ve got as many as possible. It’s very hard to remove all of an established clump of bulbs in one go, as they may have spread around, so you may need to keep a watch for any that come up later on. Don’t bother with weedkiller, not only is it harmful to your garden ecosystem but isn’t effective for bulbs, which rely on food already stored in the bulb, but you’d need to dig them out anyway before replanting. Weedkiller would probably affect them so they didn’t flower, then you’d have the worst of both worlds!
