Roses From My Friends
Drying Roses: Please Help?
I recently received a dozen roses from a friend of mine, and I’d like to dry them and keep their original shape. I’ve researched answers on here, and they all say to hang them upside down, in a warm and dry place. I was wondering.. is my closet ok to dry them? I’ve hung them upside down the bar where I hang my clothes and their in perfect position. How long will it be till they “dry” out?
Roses dry best if they are in the bud stage or up to about 1/2 open. Fully-opened roses tend to mold or drop their petals as they dry.
I’ve used two methods to dry roses – one is to hang them upside down in a tied bundle and let them dry, and the other is to layer borax in a closed box to dry individual flowerheads. The borax method works well if you are using flowers for potpourri or craft projects, but it is a major pain. Hanging them works really well, but they do tend to lose more color this way.
The two main things to remember when drying flowers are air circulation and keeping them out of direct sunlight. Not enough air circulation will cause them to mold or rot, sunlight will cause them to fade. Warm, closed rooms can also cause mold or rot, so a closet isn’t the ideal place to dry flowers.
I prefer hanging and drying herbs and flowers in a relatively cool, dark place with good air circulation. The attic or an outbuilding is ideal. Typically, the longer it takes the flowers to dry, the better they hold their color and shape. Warm rooms dry quicker, but also cause more fragility and color loss.
If you have a safe place to hang them in either an attic or semi-heated garage, try that instead of your closet. Bundle them tightly around the bottom of the stems (for a dozen, you may want to split them into groups of 3-4 for this). I usually run a thin wire or cord across the rafters and use a paperclip to attach the bundles. They can hang there, out of the way, for weeks without being bothered with. Roses typically take 3-6 weeks to dry completely, depending on their size.
Hope this helps!

Rose Color Messages
Did you know there is a long-established custom when giving roses as gifts? The approach is an effortless one: Compare a rose colour to the intended meaning that you want to communicate. Valentine’s Day is renowned as an unofficial holiday. This day lovers send red roses and the message goes hand in hand. A husband or wife may also be a recipient of red roses on Valentine’s Day, but giving a red rose to a friend on this day, may convey a misleading signal.
Partly because of their popular position, through time, roses have inspired people to identify what’s known as a poetry of roses by presenting different meanings in different colours. Even the assortment & number of roses given, has meaning. So as to ensure that you send the right message, when you’re ready to give roses to someone, you become more educated about your color choice.
The red rose has extensively surpassed the others colours in popularity. It has all the time been & still is, an instantly recognizable expression of romantic feelings. Red roses are an demonstration of very deep feelings of longing & desire. However, on the other hand, a deep-colored red, can mean sorrow or regret.
The white coloured rose is a token of new beginnings. The colour white is usually associated with innocence and purity, thus a favourite for bouquets for when the first time brides walk down the aisle. White coloured roses usually used to express sympathy & humility are often seen as a symbol of spirituality.
The yellow coloured rose is easily understood as expressing joy amd affection. They also bring about feelings of care & friendship. If you’re presented with a coloured yellow rose you can be sure that there is no undertone of romance found it a totally platonic rose color.
Pink coloured roses available in a wide variety of shades, usually mean joy, gratitude & adoration. Light pink roses symbolize sweetness & innocence & deep pink flowers stand for gratitude & appreciation. Pink roses are associated with the thoughts of elegance & grace as well, & because of that, you’ll often see this coloured roses on display in homes.
The orange rose is the absolute opposite of the yellow rose. Orange roses are representative of passion & energy & are used to giving a feeling of pleasure & pride. Orange roses are the nearest other coloured rose to the red one due to conveying a message of passion & romance.
Blue Roses is a flower that doesn’t achieve its colour through a natural process, as they’re symbols of mysticism. They’re designed for the person who’s constantly on your mind.
Green roses symbolizes fertility & is the colour of peace & abundance. Green roses are in fact composed of white roses with little hints of green in them, but can still make it clear that you want someone to recover well when they are sick or to excel in their new occupations.
And finally, black coloured roses mean death & closure. While black roses aren’t really black, but rather a very dark red. Be sure to only give black roses during these times or to someone who requested this colour. Because otherwise they’re a symbol of death of a relationship. These are sent to bring a message that you no longer wish to be involved with the person receiving it.

Need You opinion I recently had a friend die from sniffing glue. revised the poem of roses are red.?
Violet Are Not Blue
I went and sniffed some glue,
because i wanted to see if violets are blue.
I should of used my head.
because of this I’ll soon be dead.
Now this is why roses are red,
it’s because I’m dead.
To everyone please don’t try to do this and if you are
please stop it not worth it.
To be honest, I don’t think that your poem is in the best taste. While this is obviously a sensitive and important issue to you, the poem comes off as being silly and even comical. But if you would like to keep this particular format, you need to add an s to violet on the title and capitalize the i. Again, I would suggest rewriting the poem in a different manner though.
