Are there different types of roses? If so, what are these called?

I have these two pictures of roses and I love them! I want to use this type in a bouquet….what is the name of them and are they expensive for say 2-3 dozen? (Will this kind look good mixed with “black magic roses” for a bouquet?) TY.

These are florist roses, not home grown garden roses. Variety, could be one of several. Here is a website that lets you see some of the roses available to the florist trade……..and you can buy them too! They’ll ship right to you instead of you having to buy through a florist.

Can you put roses on top of a wedding cake, real roses ?

The cake I want for my wedding has real red roses around the tiers, The woman that is doing says that’s this would be a sanitary issue, with pesticides.Ive seen many of pictures on line with roses in wedding cakes , is there a square tower I need or can I put the roses on the cake .. Without making my family all sick..lol I thought roses were edible?

It is advised that if you use live flowers on your wedding cake that they be safe, edible flowers and organic and pesticide-free . Usually, a florist will provide such flowers for your cake. Personally, I didn’t take any chances and purchased some sugar paste flowers online instead. Parchment fowers or silk flowers are also a good choice for cakes.

Also, real flowers can be messy, expensive and must be preserved. Silk flowers are a great alternative, as they are inexpensive, easy to store and transport, and look just as lovely. The bonus is that these options will not wilt or fall apart.
