Thornless Roses
How can I find the name of my thornless rose bush from just the description of the flower?
The flowers start off cream colored, but as they age, they get almost deep ruby red to pink streaks and pink coloring in the petals. New growth is a deep ruby red, and it is definitely nearly 99% thornless. My bush is over five feet tall, and almost as wide. If anyone wants more details, and thinks they have an answer, I can also email them a picture of both the shrub and the flowers at their different stages.
Unfortunately finding a name of any rose is quite difficult because there are sooooo many. But with some luck, you may get lucky!
Your best bet is to:
a) post a picture here and see what results you get,
b) contact your local rose garden club and see if they can help,
c) post a picture at the gardenweb forum and see what results you get (www.gardenweb.com go to forums, garden web galleries, name that plant…),
d) contacting some rose nurseries (try www.ashdownroses.com, www.heirloomroses.com, www.antiqueroseemporium.com)
It would help if you knew about the rose…How old is it? Did you plant it? Does it have a scent? Do you know what type of rose it is…Things like that.
Hope this helps!

10 Romantic Flowers and Their Meaning
With valentines day fast approaching here is a useful guide to the top 10 romantic flowers and their meaning.
Some of us ladies are still thrilled when the florist van arrives at our door but before sending flowers find out what message you are sending.
Rather than just nipping in to the local petrol station or buying forced flowers from the supermarket, put a little effort in to selecting and sending flowers. However beware of what you are sending, red roses say I love you but yellow roses say we are just friends or denote jealousy. I have included which colour of flowers is the most appropriate for romance.
Most women are unaware of the meaning behind flowers so whether you send flowers yourself or through a florist make sure the card holds the information to the meaning of the flowers being sent.
Any good florist will know the meaning of the flowers, so if buying through a florist tell them the message you want to send and they will advise you on which flowers are appropriate.
10. Iris – Blue is faith and hope, purple means compliments or wisdom, white is purity and yellow is passion.
9. Acacia -Unspoken love, send these if you want to let someone know of your secret admiration.
8. Primrose – I can’t live without you (evening primose means happy in love).
7. Lilac – youthful or humility, also confidence.
6. Carnation -Fascination. Pink is maternal love, striped carnations mean refusal and say you cannot be with someone, yellow is rejection or disappointment but red means my heart aches for you or I am fascinated with you.
5. Rose – Red roses say I love you but if you place red and white roses together it symbolises perfect unity. A thornless rose means I loved you at first sight. Each colour of rose has a different meaning but for love red is the only colour to send.
4. Lily – White is purity or virginity, yellow means walking on air but also falsehood and orange means I burn for you.
3. Tulip – Red is a declaration of love, multi coloured means you have beautiful eyes and yellow is hopelessly in love.
2. Daisy – Innocence or a loyal love.
1. Orchid – Not as cliched as Roses. Rare beauty, refinement, beautiful woman, long life, femininity or mature charm.

Women please help with love?
I’ve been talking online with this girl for almost 3 months now. I had a first date with her and after that first date I know I’m in love. Never felt this way about a girl before. I was planning on writing a note shaped in a heart, and after each date I would give her a piece of the heart along with a gift. Come the fourth date she will have all the pieces of the heart and it will say “you have stolen my heart, piece by piece” the last gift will be a thornless red rose (love at first sight). Once she read that I was planning on reading her a love poem I made for her. She accepted a second date, so I think she likes me too, just not sure if its as strong. Would you break up with a guy if he expressed himself like this on the fourth date, or would you be flattered, or something else. I want to tell her how I feel, but dont want to spook her. She is the kind of person that is smart, kind, social, honest, and has good morals(still a virgin).
she is twenty
She sounds like she’s got her head screwed on, and you don’t want to lose her.
I would be a little spooked if that happened on the fourth date, IF I didn’t feel the same way. If I did then I would be so pleased.
It sounds so romantic what you’re doing, just make sure it doesn’t turn out tacky or corny
I’d say:
1)Find out how she feels, after the 3rd date you’ll begin to feel more stable.
2)Dnt push her into anything or be too forceful
3)Be romantic (you dnt seem to have a problem with that) but dnt be corny or tacky
4)Be yourself, because that is what she’ll fall in love with.
5)Girls, sometimes, take longer to fall in love totally, because they hold themselves back from getting hurt. They’re cautious. Maybe this is what she is.
See how it goes. If you’ve been talking for 3months then at least you know each other and it isn’t like starting from scratch! Just find out how she feels (sutterly!) first.
4 dates may be too soon. I’d say 6th or 7th date…
Good luck!
