My Neighbour is stealing water, some years ago he tapped into my mains supply, what can i do?
I moved into this property some 3.5 years ago, I have never been on a water meter before and was astonished how much water we were using and the cost applied to this, so we save water any way we can, we share baths collect rain water when ever possible, i syphon water from the bath to water the garden ETC. All good practices but our bill is still massive. About a year ago I was doing some fairly major excavations in the garden and found the mains pipe which came via my neighbours property. I had my suspicions that he (dumb ass builder) was tapped into my mains. Then to cut a long story short, a couple of days ago his wife finally left the house for good, and while removing furniture that belonged to her (the police had to be called as dispute over a shelf unit meant he felt compelled to barricade our shared driveway to prevent her leaving, this is another story) she informed me that he’d tapped into our water supply prior to us moving in and has been using it ever since. what can i do
